What is a beef organ supplement with collagen, biotin and zinc?
It is an organ supplement that also carries three ingredients most women buy separately. The organs supply micronutrients in food form. The collagen supplies amino acids. Biotin and zinc are added as isolated nutrients with declared amounts. Ours carries 600 mg of organs, 500 mg of collagen peptides, 10,000 mcg of biotin and 10 mg of zinc per two capsules.*
That is four ingredient groups on one panel where the category standard is one. Whether the combination is worth anything depends entirely on the amounts — and on what actually feeds hair, skin and nails — which is why this page is mostly numbers.
Why do most beef organ formulas leave these three out?
Because organs alone are cheaper to make, and because adding a declared nutrient means publishing a declared amount. Collagen at any meaningful weight also occupies capsule space that organ powder would otherwise fill. A brand adding 500 mg of peptides is choosing to carry less organ material per capsule, or to ask for a larger serving.
There is a second reason. Organs-only is the position the category was built on: whole food needs nothing added. A formula like ours departs from it, and we think the departure is justified by what collagen synthesis requires — but it is a trade, not a free upgrade.
What does your body actually need in order to build collagen?
Amino acids are only the raw material. Vitamin C and copper are the two nutrients the assembly itself runs on. Vitamin C is required for the biosynthesis of collagen, and copper is a cofactor for enzymes involved in connective tissue synthesis, both according to the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements. Neither is declared on our label.
That is the honest shape of the cofactor argument, and its limit. Adding zinc closes one gap. It does not close the vitamin C gap, and no beef organ supplement we have examined does, ours included — see the NIH fact sheet on vitamin C for why that matters. Where the copper comes from, and why we put no number on it
Copper comes from the organs, not from an added ingredient. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements lists a 3-ounce serving of pan-fried beef liver at 12,400 mcg of copper, against an RDA of 900 mcg for adults. But 600 mg of freeze-dried powder is not 3 ounces of liver, and we have run no finished-product copper assay. So we publish no copper figure — and a brand that publishes one without a certificate deserves the same question.
How much collagen, biotin and zinc does a two-capsule serving carry?
500 mg of collagen peptides type I & III, 10,000 mcg of biotin and 10 mg of zinc, alongside 600 mg of freeze-dried organs.* Those three numbers sit very differently against their reference points. The collagen is a fraction of the amount used in research, the zinc is close to the daily requirement, and the biotin is several hundred times it.
The collagen line is the one to be clear-eyed about. Most collagen research uses 2.5 to 10 grams a day, and 500 mg is roughly a fifth of the low end of that range — the same conclusion we reached in collagen powder versus beef organs. If grams of peptides are the goal, a powder delivers them and a capsule cannot. What a combined formula offers instead is the surrounding nutrients arriving on the same schedule, which is the question behind taking collagen and beef organs together.
Is 10,000 mcg of biotin an advantage?
No. It is a number to know about rather than a reason to buy. The adequate intake for adults is 30 mcg per day, so 10,000 mcg is more than 300 times that amount. Biotin has no established upper limit and excess is excreted, but high doses can distort common laboratory assays — which is the part that actually affects you.

The interference is the more practical issue: thyroid panels, troponin and several hormone assays can read falsely high or low in someone taking high-dose biotin. We gave it a full article rather than a footnote. Tell whoever draws your blood what you take, ours included.
Why is the dose that high, then?
Because that is where this market sits, not because a study points there. Reading the labels of 66 women's supplements, we found doses in the thousands of micrograms to be the norm — the figures are in our biotin dose study. That is a convention we followed, and we would rather say so than imply the number came from evidence.
Does the zinc matter, and is 10 mg the right amount?
10 mg sits above the 8 mg RDA for adult women and well below the 40 mg upper limit. Zinc is used by the body to make proteins,* according to the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements. The reason a bigger number would not be better is specific: high zinc intakes interfere with copper absorption, and copper is one of the two nutrients this formula is meant to support.
That interaction is why the upper limit sits where it does: reductions in a marker of copper status have been reported at zinc intakes around 60 mg a day, per the NIH zinc fact sheet. In a formula whose organs are the copper source, a large zinc dose would work against itself. 10 mg is modest by design.
What does this combination not do?
It has not been tested as a combination. No published trial has run beef organs with collagen, biotin and zinc against organs alone, so anyone claiming the four work better together is making an argument rather than reporting a result. Each ingredient has its own literature. The formula does not have one.

How do you check whether a combined formula is honest about its numbers?
Ask whether every ingredient carries a milligram figure in readable text, not only inside a picture of a label. That single test separates products faster than any front-of-bottle claim. In our audit of 59 beef organ supplements from 43 brands, 17 of the 40 multi-organ products published no per-organ amounts at all.
We applied the test to ourselves and failed a criterion when the audit ran, because our panel existed only as an image at the time. Three questions to ask about any combined formula
Does each added nutrient have its own line and its own number, or does it sit inside a blend? Is the collagen stated in milligrams, so you can check it against the research range yourself? Is there a finished-product certificate, or only a raw-material one?
